Frequently Asked Questions

Luxury vinyl plank and porcelain tile are the most resilient choices for Malaysia's high humidity. Both are fully waterproof and dimensionally stable. Engineered hardwood also performs well provided the space has adequate ventilation or air conditioning. We advise against solid hardwood in ground-floor spaces without a moisture barrier, as prolonged humidity can cause cupping and warping over time.
For a standard three-bedroom home, vinyl or laminate installation typically takes two to three days including subfloor preparation. Tiling projects require additional time for adhesive curing and grouting — usually four to five days. We provide a specific timeline after measuring your space and assessing subfloor conditions during the initial site visit.
In many cases, yes. Vinyl plank and laminate can be laid over existing tiles as long as the surface is level, firmly bonded and free of significant cracks. This overlay approach saves on demolition costs and reduces project time. However, if the tiles are loose, uneven or in a wet area, we recommend hacking and re-screeding first to guarantee a durable foundation for the new floor.
